The AMP Organization and Long Beach Cinematheque have teamed up to create Reel Queer Cinema, an
LGBT film series that brings gay-themed cult classics to the big screen. “We partnered with AMP to highlight
the importance of independent, queer cinema in the LGBT community,” added Logan Crow, executive
director of the Long Beach Cinematheque “When someone doesn’t have the support of their family,
sometimes media is the closet thing to family you have.”

The Long Beach Cinematheque is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the celebration of cinema by
providing opportunities for audiences to experience film classics on the big screen. These screenings provide
new and diverse ways to see cinema in Long Beach — from outdoor to experimental to film festivals and
more. The Real Queer Cinema series continues quarterly with films from openly queer directors like John
Cameron Mitchell, John Waters and more.
